By now, we have all felt some type of hopelessness during these strangely unprecedented times. Whether that has been in your personal life - due to missing social interaction or pushing weights in the gym, or in your business life – seeing a major drop in profits or not even being able to operate at all/ losing a job – we have all felt it.

Thanks to the three stage plan that Scott Morrison has implemented, we can now see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

In the meantime, the Australian government has created various schemes to keep us afloat financially (we really do live in the best country in the world).

Some of the options include the JobKeeper Payment which is given to companies to assist in paying staff members even if hours have been cut.

There are various Income Support Payments offered, including an increased $550 supplement if you are currently on any of the following government payments/ allowances:

  • JobSeeker Payment
  • Partner Allowance
  • Widow Allowance
  • Sickness Allowance
  • Youth Allowance
  • Austudy
  • ABSTUDY Living Allowance
  • Parenting Payment
  • Farm Household Allowance
  • Special Benefit

There is also the additional Household Support Payment which is an automatic extra $750 if you are eligible.

Free Child Care is also being offered in the way of the government temporarily covering the costs of child care so that families will not be charged child care fees.

Early Access to Super is also being offered to eligible individuals. You are able to access up to $10,000 in the current financial year and another $10,000 in the next financial year.

All this is great – but where is your guidance as a business owner?

If you own a business and you are unsure how to keep it afloat, or what the best course of action is to stay alive, or what you may or may not be eligible for, call us now to have a free consultation with one of our experts.
